What is wall printing? Wall printing, also known as vertical printing, is a process that uses a specialised inkjet printer to print images directly onto vertical surfaces like walls. Using CMYK(W) inks, the printer creates murals, logos, and other designs on-site.
What surfaces can you print on? Our printers can print on a wide variety of materials, including walls, wallpaper, tiles, metal, glass, acrylic and plastic. We can even print on brick, wood, and other slightly uneven surfaces.
Do I need to prepare my wall before printing? In most cases, no special preparation is needed. The surface should be clean to ensure a perfect, long-lasting result. For certain surfaces like glass, acrylic, metal, and plastic, we may suggest a coating before printing.
Is wall printing really 3D? Don't be fooled by the term "3D effect". The 3D effect refers to images that look 3D, not a real, touchable 3D texture.
Is wall printing better than vinyl graphics or traditional murals? Vertical wall printing offers several advantages over vinyl and traditional murals:
Speed: Wall printers can print high-resolution images quickly. Jobs that take days to complete by hand can be done in just a few hours.
Quality: Wall printing creates seamless images without air bubbles.
Versatility: Wall printing works on lightly textured surfaces, unlike vinyl decals.
Cost: Wall printing is often more cost-effective than hiring an artist to hand-paint a mural.
Is the print durable? Yes, the image is resistant to scratches and is waterproof. You don’t need to worry about rain outdoors.
What image file formats do you accept? We can print images with JPG, PNG, TIFF, and PDF formats. Vector file formats like TIFF, EPS, PSD, and PSB will provide the best print quality.
What is the maximum print size? The maximum print height depends on the printer setup. We can accommodate most indoor wall heights. The width is generally unlimited, and we can use image stitching technology to create vast murals.
How long does it take to print an image? Print time depends on the size and complexity of the image. We can print up to 20 square feet per hour.
How long do setup and breakdown take? Setup and breakdown each take about one hour.
Do you offer design services? Yes! Every customer receives one hour of free design assistance with our graphic design team. We can help you create a design from scratch or improve an existing image. We also provide access to a library of over 20,000 high-resolution images.
What if I need more than an hour of design time? Additional design time is available at a rate of £90 per hour.
What resolution can you print? The printing resolution is up to 2880dpi, you can also choose 1440dpi, 1080dpi, and 960 dpi.
How does the printer handle uneven surfaces? Our printers have sensors that detect wall unevenness of up to 10cm in real time. The print head automatically adjusts to maintain consistent print quality.
Do you need a flat surface for the vertical printer to move along the wall? No need for very flat walls. Our wall printers print high-quality pictures on uneven surfaces such as brick and wood.
What areas do you service? We are based in the North West of England but service all of the UK.
Is there a warranty? Yes, your prints have a one year warranty. but indoor prints last up-to 10 years and outdoor prints 5 years but this can be extended if protective coatings are applied annually. Contact our sales manager for more details.
